The DML supports Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) healthcare providers. Outside visitors (non-DoD personnel) can access the library pending the Library Director's approval.

If the Director has approved your visit, please note the following:
1) We can not arrange on base parking. See information on public parking / transportation below.
2) A member of the library staff will meet you at the south gate and escort you to the library. The south gate is at the intersection of Rockville Pike and South Wood Road, across from the Medical Center metro stop on the Red Line. It is labeled on the Base Map as the South Gate.
3) Due to the logistics and walking involved, please try to arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment, 45 minutes if you are working with library staff to provide training to healthcare providers.

Public Parking in Bethesda
Public parking options are available in downtown Bethesda. You can park in these areas and then ride the Metro to the Medical Center Station.

Metrorail Station Parking
Parking is available at 42 metrorail stations. The parking facility at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station is only one stop from the Medical Center Station.

National Library of Medicine (NLM) / National Institutes of Health (NIH)
If you are combining your visit to the DML with a visit to NLM or NIH, there is paid parking at the NIH Gateway Garage (Multi-Level Parking Garage 11).
