Regarding electronic content in any format, it is the library’s policy to purchase institutional licenses, and not individual accounts. We typically research whether an institutional license is available for content when requested. Some of the content purchased by Defense Health Agency or the Darnall Medical Library comes with an app.

When considering medical apps, it is our goal to purchase apps that are broad enough to be useful to everyone. If an App or database is requested by a specific department, is priced by individual accounts, and the library does not administer the accounts, it is more appropriate for the specific department to fund / purchase / administer that app. The library could include the App on their specialty portal, but would refer any questions to a POC within the department.
